Modes of transportation on Ro-Ro vessels
Two types of transportation are used in Ro-Ro vessels:
- Roll Mafi Trailer. In this case, the cargo will be moved on special platforms with wheels, it can be a roll or a mafi trailer. At the same time, the equipment is securely fastened.
- Roll On / Roll Off. It is used when working with all heavy and oversized cargo.
Ro-Ro vessels have a number of significant advantages, including:
- Minimization of time spent on delay for loading and storage of containers.
- Transportation of goods of any size, you can transport large heavy equipment, non-self-propelled and self-propelled equipment.
- The procedure of loading and unloading the vessel is accelerated as the machinery drives to the vessel and out of it by itself
- Avoiding costs for delayed loading.
