Transportation of an agricultural machinery from the USA to Ukraine during the war

The key change is that now all cargo is delivered by sea only to the European ports.

Previously (before the war) we offered our customers two options for sea freight and subsequent inland transportation:

1. Arrival of a vessel with an agricultural machinery from America to one of the European ports, and then inland transportation to Ukraine through European countries.

2. Arrival of a vessel with an agricultural machinery from America immediately to one of the Ukrainian ports with subsequent inland transportation to the client’s door through the territory of Ukraine.

What was the difference between these options? In speed and price.
Transportation of equipment through European ports is, as a rule, a little faster and more expensive. Through Ukrainian ports – a little longer, but also cheaper.

For example, the term of transportation of John Deere 9770 STS combine harvester from the American port to the European port of Bremerhaven was approximately 14 days. If the same harvester was transported from an American port immediately to one of the Ukrainian ports, then the transportation time was on average 35-45 days. It all depended on the city and state in which the machinery was located in the USA and where exactly it had to be delivered in Ukraine. The price rate also depended on these parameters. Please note that these are only indicative terms that were valid before the war.

Unfortunately, since the Ukrainian ports have been closed since the beginning of the war, the transportation of an agricultural machinery through them is now impossible. Currently, all routes for the transportation of agricultural machinery from the United States to Ukraine pass exclusively through the European ports. Next, we load agricultural machinery onto a truck and transport it by land to the customer’s door in Ukraine.

We have been working with routes through European ports since 2015, that is, since the company was founded. In Europe and in European ports, we have reliable partners and well-established processes, so this is not something new for us. Moreover, since February 24, 2022, we have significantly increased our work in Europe, expanded cooperation and opened new routes to meet the demand of all our existing and new customers.

We have all the necessary resources to organize the transportation of your agricultural machinery from America to Ukraine through Europe. And also, taking into account the significant load of European ports, we make sure that machinery or a container with this machinery leaves the port territory as quickly as possible and reloading onto a truck for inland transportation takes place already in the warehouse – and this saves your money. To do this, we can transport the machinery directly on the Flat Rack container to the warehouse, and already there it is unloaded from the container and loaded onto the truck, if the machinery did not arrive at the port by RoRo service.
