Organization of transportation of a lot of 6 units of CAT forklifts from America
Our task was to organize the transportation of a lot of 6 CAT forklifts from the United States.
How was the process?
Dealing with oversized shipments requires constant vigilance and attention, as if the permits are not properly issued, additional, rather high costs and delays in transportation may arise.
The forklifts were large and heavy, so it was necessary to determine exactly which permits were required. If possible, we always optimize the cargo to save the client’s money on permits. However, this is not always possible, and it is necessary to understand what can be optimized and what cannot. To do this, you need to have practical experience with oversized cargo, because it is in practice that the nuances that not all logistics companies are aware of are revealed.
When working with several pieces of equipment, we try to organize all stages of transportation so that all units are transported simultaneously. This requires additional efforts, because the actual situations can be different. There are cases when units of equipment from one lot are transported on different ships. This must also be taken into account, and if this is unacceptable to the client, the procedure for performing the work must be carefully developed in advance.
The sea freight from the American port to the European port was organized by RoRo service. Read more about Ro-Ro transportation here. In the port of Bremerhaven, Germany, we met all the units of equipment and performed intra-port work. We loaded the forklifts onto trawls and transported them by land to the recipient.
We have extensive experience with lots that we transport both through Ukrainian and European ports. Currently, we operate routes only through European ports, but we are looking forward to the opening of Ukrainian ports to continue our fruitful cooperation with them.
