How was the process?
What kind of logistics work we performed:
1. Ground transportation within the United States.
Usually, to select the right trawl for transportation across America, we only need to know the model of the agricultural machinery, you can learn more about it here. We determine all the necessary technical parameters on our own, depending on the weight and dimensions. We have extensive experience in the transportation of similar models of seeders on standard trawls.
However, in this case, we had a non-standard job of land transportation of this type of cargo. The sender provided us with instructions on the type of trawl he needed. It turned out that it was a non-standard trailer, namely 907’s require 37′ of well space on Extendable Double Drop Deck Trailer. We followed the instructions and delivered such a trawl and successfully completed the transportation from the Seller’s premises to the port.
If you are wondering why such a trailer was needed in this case, don’t hesitate to call us and we will tell you.
2. Sea transportation was carried out by Ro-Ro transportation. This is when the equipment is driven on board the vessel on its own, and then attached to the floor in the hold. In Ro-Ro transportation, no containers are used, only floor mounts. Read more about Ro-Ro transportation here. It is worth noting that not all ports work with Ro-Ro vessels, so when choosing a port of departure, you should check the technical capabilities of this type of transportation.
3. In the port of Bremerhaven, Germany, we performed intra-port forwarding and loaded the seeder onto a trawl for further transportation to Ukraine.
4. The last stage was the land transportation from the seeder on a trawl from the port of Bremerhaven, Germany, to the customer’s door in the Kyiv region, Ukraine. We tell you more about this type of transportation on this page of our website.
