Organization of transportation of John Deere 9660 STS combine harvester from Illinois, USA to Bremerhaven, Germany
Since 2015, we have organized the transportation of more than 1500 units of large-sized equipment from America. Each unit is a separate case, because the locations, routes, condition of the equipment and market situation are different. Therefore, each unit requires an individual approach. At the same time, over the years, we have worked out the main processes so that some stages have become standardized.
How was the process?
Thanks to our high-quality and well-coordinated work, as well as the favorable situation along the entire route, the transportation of the John Deere 9660 STS combine from Illinois, USA, went without incident and surprise.
After receiving a request for transportation from the client, we developed a route and determined the optimal port of departure from America. We found out when the combine harvester should arrive at the port to get on the selected vessel and organized road transportation from the Seller’s door in advance. Upon arrival at the port, we unloaded the harvester from the trawl and loaded it onto the ship. For sea transportation, we chose RoRo service because the combine was on the move and could independently board the vessel. Upon arrival of the vessel in the port of Bremerhaven, Germany, we performed intra-port forwarding and loaded the combine onto the customer’s trawl for further transportation to Ukraine.
If the client is able to organize transportation from a European port to Ukraine on their own, we never prevent this. Although we have a reliable and professional carrier from Europe to Ukraine and offer our delivery services to the customer’s door, if the customer has their own trusted carrier, we will perform our part of the logistics work just as well.
The transit time from the sender’s door to the port of arrival in Germany was 25 days.
This case is illustrative because everything that was planned was also implemented. This does not always happen. There are times when things don’t go as planned: strikes, schedule changes, accidents on the road, and anything else. It is impossible to plan for unforeseen circumstances. However, the fastest possible resolution of the situation depends on expertise and experience, available resources, and the ability to quickly navigate new circumstances. We are very fond of and proud of when transportation goes smoothly as if it were a textbook, but at the same time, we are ready for any surprises.
