How was the process?
As a logistics company that specializes in organizing the delivery of agricultural machinery delivery to Ukraine from the United States, we have performed the following work:
– We organized ground transportation from the Seller’s territory in the USA to our warehouse in Houston. This stage included loading the combine onto a trawl at the Seller’s premises for further transportation, more details about ground delivery here;
– In a warehouse that specializes exclusively in agricultural machinery, we loaded the combine into a specialized 40′ Flat Rack container. By the way, we have three such warehouses in America, so there will definitely be one of them on the way to any port nearby, where we can load your equipment into a container if necessary. We tell you more about warehousing services on this page of the website;
– Sea freight. There are two most common types of transportation of oversized agricultural machinery: Ro-Ro and FR container. When the equipment can be loaded on board the vessel on its own, we usually choose and advise our customers to use RoRo transportation while our Ukrainian ports are closed. Read more about Ro-Ro transportation here. But in this case, the combine was not running and could not get on board the vessel on its own. So, we chose the option of sea transportation in a container, which we describe in more detail in this section;
– We received the combine harvester in the port of Klaipeda, Lithuania, where we performed the following works: VPR (unloading the container from the ship), T1, intra-port forwarding, re-transportation of the combine from the container to our warehouse with further loading onto the trawl;
– We organized land transportation from the port of Klaipeda, Lithuania, to Odesa region. To do this, we selected a trawl that was technically suitable for transporting the John Deere 9500 combine and ensured that all the necessary transportation permits were in place.
The transit time for container transportation from the American port to the port of Klaipeda, Lithuania, was 35 days.
