Organization of transportation of a John Deere R4045 sprayer from the United States
Our client, who had purchased a John Deere R4045 sprayer in the United States, contacted our company with a request for its transportation to Ukraine. Our task was to organize sea freight from America to Germany, as well as further road transportation of the sprayer to its destination in Ukraine.
How was the process?
The peculiarity of this case is that the sender in the United States had the opportunity to deliver the sprayer to the port on its own. Share our experiences here on how the transportation of such equipment usually goes. We always recommend our clients to use the option of transporting equipment to the port if the sender offers it. The fact is that transporting oversized cargo across the United States can be extremely challenging due to the lack of drivers and specialized vehicles. In addition, shippers often have their own trawls and the cost of their services for transporting equipment to the port is adequate, so there is no point in looking for other options.
Therefore, we always recommend that our clients ask the shipper if they can arrange transportation to the port. In this case, we used this opportunity. We calculated the route and determined the most suitable port of departure. Within the agreed timeframe, the sender brought the sprayer to this port, and then we organized the sea freight.
For sea transportation to the port of Bremerhaven, Germany, we chose the Roll-on/Roll-off (RoRo) service. Upon arrival of the sprayer in Germany, our team organized its unloading from the vessel, intra-port operations, payment of terminal expenses and loading onto the customer’s trawl for transportation to Ukraine.
The cubic capacity of the John Deere R4045 sprayer is larger than the popular John Deere R4030 and R4730 models, which makes it demanding in terms of logistics and safety. Also, this model is quite expensive, so the client instructed us to insure the transportation along the entire route.
